A spokesperson for the San Diego Police Department said they are actively investigating a Christmas Eve robbery that took place in North Park. The suspect is believed to be Hispanic and stands approximately 5 feet and 8 inches tall. He was reported to be seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and bandana at the time he committed the crime.
No one was hurt during the incident, they said.
The location of the crime was at Stram Inc., a company that was founded in 1950 and provides gasoline services throughout California. It is believed the gunman is tied to several other gas station robberies in the area including one at Palm Avenue in Ocean Crest. In both instances an employee was threatened and cash was demanded. Both gas stations were located in close proximity to the 805 freeway.
Anyone who has information on the suspect is asked to contact police. The suspect may be armed and dangerous. All crime tip calls placed to the San Diego Police Department are anonymous. Once the suspect is apprehended he will likely be transported to the San Diego Central Jail to be booked and processed into the system. Bail for this charge is anticipated to be set in excess of $50,000.
