Three people who broke into a fumigated home, with the intention of robbing it, have been arrested.
The incident happened in mid-June, according to a report by NBC San Diego, when San Diego Police Department officers received a tip that three men had broken into the resident.
The homeowner told investigators that he was concerned the fumigation tent would make his home a target; he was sleeping in his vehicle outside of the residence when the crime happened.
His son, who was monitoring the home using a live-streaming link to their video surveillance cameras, was the first to spot the burglars. All of the suspects were taken into custody, police said.
The fire department was asked to provide breathing devices to the suspects due to the chemicals that they’d been breathing.
The men were taken to a hospital to be evaluated before they were booked into the San Diego Central Jail. Their names have not yet been made public.
