A spokesperson for the San Diego Police Department say they are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who tried to kidnap a San Diego State University student earlier this week.
Authorities say the incident took place just before 11 a.m. on Monday at the intersection of Baja and Campanile drives.
SDSU officials said the student was walking along the street when an unknown male walked up to her and pulled a gun. He told her to get into a car but she ran off, instead.
The suspect fled the scene and may have driven away in a pick up truck; the victim was unharmed, they said, but she was a bit shaken up.
Law enforcement personnel say they’re still unsure as to the motive of the attempted kidnapping but they are actively looking at any and all leads.
Anyone who thinks they have information that could help lead to the capture and/or arrest of the gunman is asked to call the SDPD tip line.
